Welcome!

Field of Flowers Professional Life Coaching helps women navigate the intricate and sometimes surprising pathways of life as they explore and walk in their destiny.

Life is full of twists and turns.  We anticipate some of them.  We don’t expect others.  Sometimes it’s like driving down a freeway where the road is smooth and well-signed.  Other times you’re inching your way along a high mountain pass, carefully navigating hair-pin turns.  Still other times what you see as you round a corner blindsides you – good or bad.  We can’t control everything, but we can control whether we live a fulfilling life.

Maybe you’re doing that already but something in you is pulling you towards “more”.  Maybe you’ve been so disappointed that trying is too scary.  Or it could be that you’re somewhere in between!  Email fieldofflowers@mt.net to check out whether some life coaching sessions could help you map the next phase of your trip in this thing called life.

Why the name, Field of Flowers Life Coaching?

Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink … Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin. Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these … But if God so clothes the grass of the field … will He not much more surely clothe you? – Matt. 6:25, 28-30 Amplified Version.

Not that we’re all always worried, but we do tend to over-think!  In naming my life coaching practice, this quote drew me with the truth that every day in which we trust and then move, we become more magnificently clothed.

Life Coaching and What to Expect

Life coaching can help you discover the next steps in your journey towards living a fulfilled life, and help you keep going.

  • How do you get from Point A to Point B? That can be simple – but not always easy.
  • Do you ever think about doing something different with your life – but don’t have a clue as to what or how?
  • What makes your heart beat a little faster with anticipation?
  • Looking back on your life: To what areas have you consistently been drawn? Have you “been” to those areas yet?
  • What about those times when you start on this exciting journey towards something new only to run into seemingly insurmountable barriers … things get discouraging … and it’s hard to keep going?

Typically the life coaching relationship lasts anywhere from three months to a couple of years, depending on how far you want to take it. About You, the Client

God wrote a book about you before He even formed you into a human being (Psalm 139:16). He prepared certain things ahead of time for you to do (Ephesians 2:10). He excitedly and tenderly wove together every particle of your being, thoughtfully combining different tendencies and passions and gifts that make you uniquely you! Then He gives you not just the ability, but also the desire to walk in what He has planned for you (Philippians 2:13).

God sees you and your destiny as a finished product. He sees the beginning from the end. He places you in community for mutual encouragement and support in the ups and downs of life. As you go through your days with the highs and the lows, it’s easy to forget there is more to life than the daily grind. As your coach, Rachel will partner with you to identify your gifts, overcome barriers, and persevere to your breakthrough! Walking in your God-given passion is worth the journey!

About Rachel

A Snapshot of Rachel’s Journey

Cross-cultural

Rachel with sheep in PakistanI grew up in Pakistan as the fourth child of Baptist missionaries,  experiencing a close-knit family and 18 years of cross-cultural issues and constant transition. My Dad was the principal of a school for missionary kids. While the curriculum was American, the school was known for its high standards and attracted students of all nationalities. Growing up overseas but being an American put me in the category of a “third culture kid”. I can relate to others who have experienced living between the culture of citizenship and the environmental culture, and learning where you fit.

Outdoors – love it!

Rachel and her husband

After high school graduation in Pakistan I spent a few years in Minnesota. I moved to Montana in the early ‘80s, where I currently reside. My husband Bill and I live on 40 acres near Helena, Montana’s capital city.

Management Experience: Since 1994 I have worked for Energy Share of  Montana, a private nonprofit organization. Beginning as the Energy Services  Coordinator, I progressively earned more responsibility and am now the  Executive Director of Energy Share. Thirty years in the nonprofit field has helped me gain all kinds of management and “people” experience.  I have been lonely, scared, elated, bewildered, confident, burned out, successful, moving forward and plateaued.  I’ve learned about myself, my weaknesses, my strengths … and grown along the way.  Life is never dull!

Learning Perseverance Through The “Ponies”!

Rachel and horseConcurrently, I became more and more involved with horses. Much of my on-the-job life training occurs as I continually learn and grow in working with our horses. For about ten years I  was involved in Reining, a highly technical and demanding sport involving well-trained horses. The highs and lows of competition, the sweat and tears of training for it, and the deep friendships formed with like-minded people was my sweet spot for a while. I left Reining in 2011. Resulting introspection, soul-searching, and more growth has brought me to a place where I value partnership with my horses more than ever before. In 2019 I  received certification through the Equine Assisted Coaching Association for working with horses to life coach. Most people are aware of the amazing abilities God has placed in horses and other animals to help us grow. Seeing God use horses to help people has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. Equine-assisted life coaching is available in person only,  but I am also available to coach you from a distance in your relationship with your horse and your equine-related goals.
